Q. How do I cite unpublished, internal documents, such as reports/data from a work project, in APA Style?

Answer

For information about citing unpublished and informally published works, please refer to pages 211-212 of the APA Publication Manual. Note that this format applies to documents retrieved from the Academic Success Center and the Dissertation Center.

The reference should follow the standard format:

Author, A. A. (Year, Month Day). Title of material. Unpublished manuscript [or

"Manuscript submitted for publication," or "Unpublished raw data]. Retrieved from

     http://www.website.org/

Example:

The Graduate School. (2015, June 9). Dissertation resource manual. Unpublished

manuscript. Dissertation Center, Northcentral University. Retrieved from

        http://learners.ncu.edu/ncu_diss/default.aspx
