I clicked Article Linker and a message appeared in the ScienceDirect database saying there was an error. What does this mean?

Article Linker from NavigatorSearch (formerly Roadrunner) does not always link correctly. We apologize for the inconvenience. If you receive an error message from ScienceDirect that looks like this:

ScienceDirect error message screen stating "Sorry, your erquest can not be processed due to a system problem."

Follow the instructions below:

1. Return to the NavigatorSearch (formerly Roadrunner) tab and copy the title of your article:

Article detailed record screen in Roadrunner.

2. Return to the ScienceDirect tab and past the title of the article within quotation marks into the search box at the top of the page and click the green search button to locate the article:

ScienceDirect search for a title.

3. Your article should appear at the top of the results page:

ScienceDirect search results screen.

We also recommend reviewing our Locating Publications FAQ for an alternative method to locating your citation by the journal.
