Q. I am unable to login to my My EBSCOhost account. How do I resolve this?

Answer

If you have previously created a My EBSCOhost Account, but are having difficulty logging in, your first step is to click on either the link for Forgot your password or Forgot your user name or password, as shown below. Step by step instructions for each process appear below the image.

To reset your password:

  1. From the Sign In Screen, click Forgot your password? A screen appears.
  2. Enter your user name and click Continue. You are prompted to answer the question you entered as a password hint.
  3. Enter your new password twice.
  4. Click Continue. You are automatically logged in as a personal user based on your new password. You should note the new password so you can log in at a future session.

To retrieve your user name and password:

  1. From the Sign In Screen, click Forgot your user name and password? A screen appears.
  2. You are prompted to enter your first name, last name and e-mail address. Click Continue. The Reset your Password Screen appears with your user name displayed.
  3. You are prompted to answer the question you entered as a password hint, enter a new password twice.
  4. Click Continue. You are automatically logged in as a personal user based on your new password. You should note the new password so you can log in at a future session.

If you attempt the above steps, but you receive an error message (such as that shown below), it typically means that EBSCOhost is notable to match the email address that you are entering against its database. Please ensure that you are entering the correct email, and did not establish the account an alternate email address.

If you are certain you are entering the correct email but the error persists, your account may have been deleted by EBSCO (not theLibrary) due to inactivity. Items in your personal folder will automatically be discarded if you have not logged into the folder for an 18 month period.

Unless there was some critical content in your My EBSCOhost account that you need to retrieve, it is recommended that you start over by setting up a new account. Users can have multiple accounts on EBSCOhost.

If there was some critical information in your account and can't log into it, you'll need to contact EBSCOhost Technical Support. Keep in mind that due to EBSCO's privacy policy, they are unable to obtain and give out user ID and password information. You should record your user name and password immediately after you create it.
