Q. Why am I getting numbers and symbols when I try to search a database?
There are several factors that contribute to access issues. The information below offers steps to resolve this issue:
Clear Cache: Simply hold down the ctrl+shift+delete keys and release. Select cookies, cache and temporary internet files, if available, to clear. For more information on clearing your browser's cache, visit this webpage.
Change Browser: You might also try using a different browser; some library databases are not compatible with Google Chrome, so we recommend using Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox.
Contact Your Internet Service Provider: Recently students have reported that there is an interference/connection problem due to the Web Accelerator settings or by their provider. Contact your service provider for help in resolving this access issue and/or disabling the web accelerator settings. This issue may be most common for satellite internet users.
