Q. How do I download an e-book from Ebook Central?

ProQuest Ebook Central offers flexible options for downloading content.

Download a chapter, a page, or a range of pages in real PDF. Text is searchable and selectable, and a citation is included in a style of your choice (see the Chapter Downloads tab).

Download the book to computers, tablets, and phones. Simply select your device in the first step, and Ebook Central will guide you through the rest, as shown in the screenshots below.

If you’re using a laptop or desktop, you need Adobe Digital Editions a free program that is different than Adobe Reader. A free Adobe ID is also required to transfer the ebook to another device, but not if you’re just reading it on the same computer.

On iOS and Android devices, you need Bluefire Reader, which is free from the App Store and Google Play. You need an Adobe ID to use Bluefire Reader.

Step 1: Select your device.

Step 2: Install your reader software.

Step 3: Download the E-Book.

The download options offers a borrowing period for up to 21 days (depending on the publisher). You can download the same book again and again, once you return it or once it expires.

Here is an example of a full title download in Adobe Digital Editions.

Once you’ve downloaded an Ebook Central e-book, that downloaded e-book is only on the computer or device you downloaded it to. However, you can manually transfer it to a different device. For instructions on how to manually transfer your downloaded e-book to another device please refer to the following instructions from ProQuest ebooks Support Center:
