I previously purchased the desktop version of EndNote. How do I transfer these references to the online version provided free by the Library?

Follow the steps below to export the references from EndNote desktop to the EndNote online account. Please see the following FAQ for instructions on how to create a free EndNote Online account.

1) In your original desktop version of EndNote, click on the style selection drop-down menu from the main EndNote toolbar.

2) Click Select Another Style.

3) Browse to RefMan (RIS) Export and click Choose.

4) Click on the file menu and select Export.

5) Pick a name and location for the text file and click Save.

6) Go to the Library's Web of Knowledge database to create a new account for the online version of EndNote.

7) Login to EndNote online through Web of Knowledge.

8) Click on Collect and select Import References.

9) In the Import References screen, click Choose File to upload your file.

10) In the dropdown for Import Option, choose RefMan (RIS).

11) In the dropdown for To, select where you would like references to be saved. You can select [Unfiled] or New Group.

12) Click the Import button and your references will be imported into the chosen folder.
