How do I start outlining my literature review?

Answer

Please review the ASC’s Outlining and Annotating resource to assist you with outlining. Once you have an idea of how to outline, review the dissertation template in the Dissertation Center under the DSE Guides & Templates section. The template will provide you with guidance on the types of headings that you need. If you need additional assistance with outlining, use ASC Chat to speak with a coach or to schedule an appointment.

Additionally, you may search the Library's Dissertation Resources to find completed dissertations for examples of literature reviews. To access it, go to the school library, click on Research Resources, and then Find Dissertations. To see dissertations from other NU students, select ProQuest Dissertations & Theses @ National University. ProQuest Dissertations & Theses Global provides access to over 2 million full-text dissertations from hundreds of different universities. For more guidance, please see the Library's FAQ: How do I find completed dissertations in the Library?
