Two authors: Use both authors with "and" between them
- Narrative example: Jones and Smith asserted...
- Parenthetical example: (Jones and Smith).
Three or more authors: Use the first author's name followed by et al. in-text and parenthetically.
- Narrative example: Lee et al. asserted...
- Parenthetical example: (Lee et al.).
