How do I locate a court case in the Library?

The library subscribes to Nexis Uni which is a great resource for accessing court decisions. To access Nexis Uni from the Library homepage, go to A-Z Databases and select the letter "N".

On the Nexis Uni home page, select Legal (upper tab menu bar) and from the Content type box, select Cases.

Cases can be searched by case citation, party names or keywords. See examples below:

i.e. by case citation  - 33 Cal App 5th 230

33 is the volume number

Cal App is the abbreviation for the case reporter - California Appellate Reports

5th is the 5th series of the California Appellate Reports

230 - is the page number the case begins

i.e. by party name - Bevis v. Terrace View Partners, LP

i.e. by keywords - breach and contracts
