How do I locate insurance ratings?
You may use the following company websites to find insurance rating information, or contact the companies by phone for free verbal ratings.
- A.M. Best – Ratings are available by signing up on the company’s website. Purchase company reports and news items through the website, or contact their customer service department at 1-908-439-2200 x.5742
- Fitch Information, Inc. – Free verbal ratings (limited to five per call) at 1-800-853-4824. You may also obtain free ratings through the website.
- Moody’s – Free verbal ratings (limited to five per call) at 1-212-553-0377. You may also obtain free ratings through the website.
- Standard & Poor’s - Free verbal ratings (limited to five per call) at 1-212-438-2400. Obtain free company ratings from the website. Contact them to verify costs and to purchase written reports and analyses.
- The Street: Weiss Ratings - You can also obtain information on a single company in the form of a brief over-the-phone verbal rating, a 1-page summary, or an 18-page analysis. Call 1-800-289-9222.
You may also check Worldcat.org to see if a Library near you owns any of the print versions of the below insurance ratings publications. Search for the book, then on the results page, click the location dropdown menu on the far right of the top blue navigation bar to enter your zip code. You will then see which libraries near you might own the title.
