How do I get to the Google Advanced Search page?

You may click here to go directly to the Google Advanced Search page.

Alternatively, you may conduct a basic Google search from the homepage or by using your browser's toolbar. On the results screen, click on the Options menu (gear icon) in the upper right-hand corner. Select Advanced Search as shown below.

Google tools menu wiht Advanced search highlighted.

Clicking on Advanced Search will retain your original search terms in the "all these words" field, as shown below. In our example, we may wish to move our terms to the "exact word or phrase" field to find flipped classroom as an exact phrase with no other words in between. For additional information on phrase searching, click here.

A valuable feature of Google Advanced Search is the ability to limit your results by site or domain. This field allows you to search a single website (like http://www.ed.gov/) or limit your results to a domain like .edu, .org or .gov. For details, please see our Limit by Domain FAQ.

For additional assistance with using the Google Advanced Search, please get in touch with the Library. You may also visit the Google Advanced Search help page here.
