How do I convert documents to PDFs?

Converting HTML, Microsoft Word documents, or other file formats to a PDF requires a commercially available PDF software program, such as Adobe Acrobat Standard or Professional. You may also conduct a Google search for "free PDF converter" to see if there are free versions available online. Unfortunately, however, many of these will not work with subscription Library databases, as you are logged into a secure site.

Note, however, that these conversions will display the text exactly as it appears in the HTML version—it basically just captures a picture of the HTML version. Therefore, everything must be correct in your document before you convert (e.g., page numbers, margins, spelling, figures, etc.).

For instructions and screenshots, see the article How to Convert a Microsoft Word Document to PDF Format.
