Why can't I access my course textbook in the Library?

All required course textbooks are available electronically via your student portal. Most required course books are made available through your course platform in RedShelf. For more detailed information, see the Question: How do I access my course textbooks?

Please note, RedShelf books are no longer accessible once the course has ended.

Course textbooks are typically not available in Library due to publisher restrictions. Occasionally you may have readings assigned in an e-book or book chapter available through Library databases, such as Ebook Central, SAGE Knowledge, SAGE Research Methods or APA PsycBooks.

To learn more about searching for e-books in the Library, see the Question:  How do I search only for e-books within the Library?

If you are having trouble accessing your course textbook on RedShelf, please contact the IT Service Desk at 858-309-3580 or helpdesk@nu.edu
