What is Fair Use?

Fair Use is a legal doctrine permitting the unlicensed use of copyright-protected works in certain circumstances. Four factors must be considered in determining whether or not a use is fair: purpose of use, the nature of the information, amount of information to be used, and the effect on the potential market or value.

In other words, just because you use a resource for educational purposes, does not mean it automatically qualifies as fair use.
