A research problem has to meet certain criteria to be achievable. It has to be specific, real-life, and evidence-based. For more information about what constitutes a researchable problem, please refer to the Dissertation Center's guide for Chapter 1, containing information on Problem Statements and Purpose Statements. Your Dissertation Chair will be your best resource for helping to determine if your research question is feasible and aligned with your problem, purpose, and framework.
