How do I find reports in the education field?

There are a few ways to locate reports for education topics:

1. Use our General Education Library Guide and go to the Reports tab. You will see a list of curated sources that provide reputable reports.

2. NavigatorSearch (formerly Roadrunner): Type in your topic, and on the results page you can filter to a specific source type on the left filter panel. "Source Types" > "Reports".

3. ERIC database has a variety of Report filters. Type in your topic in the ERIC search, then on the search results page, go to the left filter panel and choose "Publication Type" > You will then see a few types of reports to select:

  • "Reports - Research"
  • "Reports - Descriptive"
  • "Reports - Evaluative"
  • "Reports - General"

4. Search in Google and limit results to .org/.edu./.gov and/or file format .pdf. Reputable reports are more likely to come from those domains. Additionally, limiting to PDF file type is a good shortcut to locating full-text documents that could likely be reported.
