How do I find articles that review the difference between DBA and PhD degrees?

Typically, scholarly articles do not compare and contrast two particular topics, such as DBA vs. PhD degrees. Rather, they will cover one particular study or perspective in depth. It will be up to you, as a student, to synthesize the information you have learned from your research and draw your own comparisons and conclusions.

However, you may use the techniques outlined below to search for resources that may examine both DBA and PhD degrees.

NavigatorSearch (formerly Roadrunner):

It is important to keep in mind that information about DBA and PhD degrees is more likely to be found in popular sources such as magazines, blog posts, and websites rather than in scholarly journals. However, if you are required to use scholarly journal articles, we recommend conducting a keyword search on your topic using NavigatorSearch (formerly Roadrunner), the central search box found on the Library's homepage. NavigatorSearch (formerly Roadrunner) searches most of our Library's database content.

Here are some example NavigatorSearch (formerly Roadrunner) to get you started in the right direction. Click the links to go directly to the search results.

For additional instruction, we recommend watching the Library's Search Like an Expert quick tutorial video. It provides tips on how to use basic search techniques for more effective searching. You may access this video on our Quick Tutorial Videos page. You may also want to view the longer videos, Searching 101 and Searching 102 on the Library Workshop Videos page.

Google Scholar:

You could also try a Google Scholar search to see if you get better results for scholarly resources. See an example Google Scholar search below.
