How do I export a citation from Google Scholar to RefWorks?

There are 2 ways to save and export citations in RefWorks from Google Scholar:

Cite Feature in Google Scholar

  1. To save a citation in RefWorks, select the Quotation mark/Cite icon beneath the result listing. Google Scholar search result with Quotation mark icon outlined for saving citation
  2. Select the RefWorks option to export the citation to RefWorks automatically.Cite feature in Google Scholar displaying RefWorks option

Using Save To RefWorks Tool - For more information about the Save to RefWorks tool, visit the following page.

  1. Launch the Save To RefWorks tool while on the Google Scholar search results page. The Save to RefWorks tool will display the 10 search results listed on the page. Select the listings that you would like to export to RefWorks. Click Save to RefWorks to finalize export.

Keep in mind that these options may not create a persistent link back to the full-text article, if available, in the Library. For more information about adding citations to your RefWorks account with persistent links, see the Save to RefWorks guide or Add Full-Text to RefWorks FAQ

For additional information, see the Google Scholar Quick Tutorial Video and the RefWorks Guide.
