How can I do a reverse search from an in-text citation?

If you only have an in-text citation, author(s), last name, and year, the best way to track down the full citation is by conducting a Google Scholar search.

For example, if you only have (Leithwood, Jantzi & Steinbach, 1999). Copy and paste or type the authors and year into the Google Scholar search box and click search.

Note that this method may not work successfully for all in-text citations. You may need to add keywords to your search to narrow the scope, such as words describing the resource's subject matter. 

Once you've located the full citation, you can check for the resource in the Library by conducting a NavigatorSearch (formerly Roadrunner) Title Search or link your Google Scholar settings to retrieve full text from the Library. See the Questions & Answers below:
