Why do I get ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE and how do I fix it?

The "err_empty_response" error message can occur when accessing a website in any browser and means that data is not being sent or transmitted. It can be caused by various things, including:

  • Connectivity issues: A poor internet connection or problems with the server
  • Browser cache: Outdated or corrupt cached files can hinder website loading
  • Browser extensions: Conflicts arising from browser extensions or plugins
  • Security programs: Your firewall and antivirus software can sometimes block your connection to a website
  • Misconfigured browser settings: Settings in the browser that have been misconfigured

Here are some things you can try to fix the issue:

1. Check your network and/or internet connection - ensure that you are connected to the Internet and your connection is working.

2. Clear your browser's cache, cookies, and temporary files.

4. Reset your network settings. This page from Driver Easy shows instructions. Or you may want to view this quick YouTube video here.

5. Try using another browser. All internet browsers are free to download.
